The legend of Ferrari

When it comes to Ferrari, Italian is spoken all over the world, it is a legend. Everyone knows it, everyone loves it, everyone dreams of it, but few can own one. The car manufacturer from Maranello is by far the best example of Italian excellence. Ferrari is the pinnacle of luxury in sports cars and over the years it has become a real status symbol. Furthermore, the Ferrari team holds the record for prizes for driver and constructor in Formula 1 and is perhaps the most loved team ever, not only by Italians.

Enzo Ferrari and his dream

Enzo Ferrari was born as a racing car driver. In 1929 he founded Scuderia Ferrari in Modena and in 32 he became the Alfa Romeo racing team, at the time one of the best sports and racing car brands. After a few years of great success, Enzo Ferrari leaves Alfa. A creative genius like him obviously feels too tight in a company that focuses first of all on the market. Thus he founded his first car factory, but in the meantime the Second World War broke out. Throughout the war, its factories will only produce parts for aircraft. Production will stop only after the allied bombing that hits the workshop destroying it. But Enzo is a guy who doesn't give up and after the war he rebuilds the factory, this time in Maranello. It is 1947 and the Ferrari legend is beginning.

Ferrari red color

When you see a gorgeous red sports car roaring in the street, there's no question: it's a Ferrari. But where does this distinctive feature come from? The red color comes from a decision made by the International Automobile Federation in the 20s. At that time, in order to immediately understand the nationality of a racing car, the decision was made to give each country a color. So the British cars were green, the French were blue, the German cars were white and the Italians were red. Ferrari has decided to keep this color as a flag, as did Alfa Romeo.

The prancing horse, the emblem of a legend

The prancing horse at the head of the car has a truly fascinating history. It was the emblem placed on the fighter of Major Francesco Baracca, the Italian ace of the First World War. It was donated to Enzo Ferrari by Baracca's mother as a lucky charm and it seems to have worked. The prancing horse was then mounted on all cars, becoming the most famous car brand in the world. Symbol of strength and aggression, but also of elegance, the horse perfectly embodies all the qualities of a super car like Ferrari.

An all-Italian pride

This all-Italian pride is perhaps the most desired product in the world. In fact, Ferrari increases its turnover every year, but to keep its prestige intact it was forced to limit the production of cars. Of course, the dizzying prices limit the market to an elite of rich, but everyone wants to feel a bit Ferrari. This is how the clothing and gadgets with the Ferrari brand were born. Today you can find dedicated stores in every major city in the world. In the Milan store there are even some simulators of formula 1. The same simulators can be found
even at the Ferrari museum in Maranello and according to those who have tried them, they guarantee an exhilarating experience.

Dreams live forever

Enzo Ferrari passed away at the age of 90, on a hot day in August in 1988. But thirty years after his death, the car manufacturer he founded remains an unsurpassed example of Italian ingenuity in the state of art. It is always like this, men die but dreams live forever.
