The "Arcobaleno Onlus" Association was born in Padua in 1992. Its Founding Members were a group of adoptive parents who wanted to make their experience available to International Adoption and to families who started reflecting on this type of parenting. .
From the beginning, therefore, the primary purpose of the Association has been to support couples in the choice and implementation of International Adoption beyond any political, ideological or racial discrimination, without neglecting either humanitarian or cultural purposes. and educational activities related to the dissemination of the culture of Adoption and the Promotion of Human Rights. The Arcobaleno Association, which has its registered office in Padua, gives support and assistance to couples from all over Italy.
In September 1998 the Association obtained the recognition of a non-profit organization with the Decree of the Ministry of the Interior dated 08/09/1998; on July 17, 2002 it was included in the register of Authorized Bodies by the Commission for International Adoptions which reports to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, for operations in the territory of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Moldova; on July 26, 2004, membership was extended to the Republic of Armenia; on 10 September 2009, membership was extended to the Republic of Senegal.
