Why Vienna ...

I arrived in Vienna in 2004 thanks to the Erasmus program. In those years I was studying communication sciences in Padua and I wanted to have an experience abroad. My first choice was Germany. But then (perhaps it was my destiny) a place became available in Vienna. Without thinking too much, I took the opportunity, and after more than 10 years, here I am again.
I was only supposed to stay here for 9 months, an academic year. But finding myself very well both in the university and in this city, I decided to continue and finish my studies in Austria. Also to deepen the knowledge of German. Over time I started working. I met my current Austrian wife. In short, more than 10 years have passed and by now Vienna has become my new home.
In Vienna there are about 10.000 Italians. That in a city with almost 2 million inhabitants like Vienna they become a "small group" where in the end everyone gets to know each other. There is no shortage of opportunities to meet. Indeed in recent years they are becoming more and more. Many Italian bars organize "aperitif" evenings. Italian pizzerias are popping up on every corner. And then there are various cultural activities, very often linked with the Institute of Culture.

The "QuiVienna" blog

My blog is almost an “instruction for use” aimed at those who want to move to Austria. QuiVienna's idea was born in 2011 as a blog where you can tell my experiences in Vienna and "fix" the useful information I have learned living in Austria over the years. Over time it has become a point of reference. Both for many Italians who already live there and for the many who would like to move (or even just take a vacation here). There were also many initiatives connected to the blog. Like the guided tours in Italian in Vienna or the Reading Club which still continue to give me great satisfaction today.
Today the team has 22 people, most of the collaborators are friends or people I have known over the years in Vienna and they wanted to give their contribution to this project.
Everyone knows the city differently or has had unique experiences, and together we are managing to create a blog - indeed a community - that is truly useful and complete for everyone.
