A few days ago, Florence it is able to offer tourists an extra attraction. They have in fact kicked off the mini-cruises on the Arno, to admire the city from another perspective.
How mini-cruises on the Arno work
Navigating the river aboard a traditional boat: this is the possibility offered by mini-cruises on the Arno. Born from an idea of Daniela Ghirelli and Gianni Nargheriti, Arno Boat - this is the name of the special tour - lasts about an hour and allows you to admire the beauties of the “Cradle of the Renaissance"From the waters of the Arno. Inaugurated on 18 September, it takes place on a zero-impact boat, powered by photovoltaic panels. With the departure from Lungarno Diaz, right in the vicinity of Diaz square, the tour aboard the “barchetto” is led by a boatman (as per tradition), while a guide tells all the secrets of the Arno and the historic buildings that frame the river. The route includes a passage in front of the Uffizi Gallery, continuing under the Old Bridge and Vasarian Corridor. Then we proceed towards the Ponte Santa Trinita e Palazzo Corsini. All this, enjoying an excellent aperitif based on Prosecco together with their travel companions.
Useful Information
Departures are scheduled every hour, with the first at 10:30 and the last at 19:30. For the more romantic Arno Boat also offers a night cruise at 21:30. The full ticket for one navigation is 19 €, but children between 6 and 12 years old and those over 65 residing in Florence pay a reduced price of 12 euros. Children under 6, on the other hand, sail for free.
For this year, the wonderful Arnoboat experience can only be lived for a few days, as it will end together with the month of September. All those who wish to experience this fantastic emotion will have to wait until the first day of May. In fact, the entire Arnoboat program foresees the period from 1st May to 30th September.
