For the first time, in Parma, the epicenter of the Emilian “Food Valley”, indicated as the Creative City for Gastronomy, the 62nd edition of the Michelin Guide 2017; thus the city seems to reaffirm its value within the Italian gastronomic scenario.

There were 343 starred Italian restaurants. Result that allows our country to win second place in the world, among the countries with the most Michelin stars on the national territory.
294 restaurants have one star; another 41, between those who have acquired and those who have kept, hold two; and only 8 restaurants have three stars.

New Michelin Stars: Southern Italy

The new stars seem equally distributed throughout the peninsula: from Sardinia, with The Corsair near Cagliari headed by chef Stefano Deidda; Sicilian Modica, with Accursius by Craparo. Calabria welcomes five stars, one of which acquired by the restaurant Pietramare, at Isola di Caporizzuto, where you have the stove is the chef Alfonso Crescenzo. Then in Trani, with the Quintessence by chef Stefano di Gennaro; and could not miss the beautiful Naples, thanks to Veritas by Gianluca D'Agostino; and not far from the city, in Castellammare di Stabia, Piazzetta Milù of which is chef Luigi Salomone. And finally, we conclude the ingredients of the gastronomic excellence of the South in Ischia, with The Mosaic, by chef Giuseppe De Vivo.

Rome too has confiscated multitudes of new Michelin stars, becoming a sidereal gastronomic space. Reward yourself on The Corner, where the chef Martini is in charge of the kitchens; the Magnolia by chef Madama; the For me whose chef is Giulio Terrinoni.

But the real primacy, as defined by the international director of the Michelin Guide Micheal Ellis, manifests itself in central-northern Italy. It is Enrico Bartolini who amazes those present, manager of two restaurants, both awarded a star, and an already two-starred restaurant: the Casual near Bergamo; And The Trattoria Enrico Bartolini in Castiglione della Pescaia. “It had never happened that a chef managed to run a two-star restaurant at the same time”, in the words of Michael Ellis.

New Michelin Stars: Northern Italy

We continue towards the north, where Milan disappoints the expectations of catering. Although the capital is established as the main culinary port, even this year many gastronomic activities have not received that star whose presence, for some, also seemed obvious. A first star only reaches the light managed by Luigi Taglienti.

Among the new stars we also include the Diggers by Christian Milone, in Pinerolo; The Madernassa in Guarene; the Homegrown from Pesaro, whose chef Stefano Ciotti is; The table to Laceno Mombello; From Francesco in Cherasco; 21.9 of Piobesi d'Alba, of the chef Flavio Costa.

Among the double stars, five more restaurants take place: the Danì Maison in Ischia, by Nino Di Costanzo; the Silk, in Milan, by Antonio Guida; there Margon Inn, in Ravina, by Alfio Ghezzi; the Terra, in Val Sarentino, by Heinrich Schneider; and Enrico Bartolini could not miss the well defended Mudecs.
