In light of the numerous episodes that have seen young women as protagonists comes the proposal to give life, for the next school year, to lessons against gender-based violence in the classes of Italian schools.

Classroom lessons against violence

The Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara has promoted the proposal to make specific lessons in the Italian school classes of the secondary education institutions, or high schools, technical and professional institutes, for counter violence of gender, always on the increase.

The project foresees that lessons of “sexuality education“, such as specific training courses on gender equality, respect for the opposite sex and contrast to any residue of “machismo and male chauvinism”. The minister's guidelines will soon be delivered to the principals.

The protagonists will be the kids who will not just listen passively but who will actively intervene, in the wake of the widespread and practiced "peer education"led by industry experts.

The government plan

This is the government's plan after the rapes that took place in Palermo and Caivano. The Trastevere dicastery has accepted the appeal of insiders such as teachers, psychologists, magistrates and public safety officials, to combat violence in all its variants.

There will therefore be specific training courses on gender equality, to educate students to respect the opposite sex.

VIPs against violence

A new awareness campaign against violence has spread on social media in recent weeks with the slogan “I am not meat". Alessio Boni, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, Alessandro Preziosi, Rocio Morales, are some of the personalities from the entertainment world who have joined the campaign launched by the women's weekly F to show closeness to the very young victim of the rape that took place in Palermo in recent weeks. The world of entertainment has come together to say "No", women and men are not meat.

Many, the names of the world of entertainment and politics who have joined by posting a photo of their hand with the inscription #iamnotmeat. and that has found a response on social media.

Also important are the testimonies on stage by Loredana Bertè during his concert in Calabria and of Tananai during the performance in Taranto on the night of the Taranta during which the singer showed off a shirt that he waved on stage with an inscription against violence and the iconic red mark on his face, under the eye.

A clear stance that of the school that wants to give its concrete contribution to this serious problem that grips society.
