The striking Scala dei Turchi of Realmonte finally becomes public property after years and is chosen to shoot commercials.
Scala dei Turchi, good for everyone
The Scala dei Turchi, the imposing white rock wall overlooking the sea along the coast of Realmonte, near Porto Empedocle, in the province of Agrigento, is finally a public good. The site has become viral over the years thanks to social media, establishing itself as one of the most important symbols and known throughout Sicily. In August 2007, it presented its candidacy to UNESCO to be included in the list of World Heritage Sites. The evocative site, over the years, has inspired writers, directors and travelers from all over the world.
Public good
After years of dispute between those who should have owned the site, in recent days, the owner Ferdinando Sciabbarrà has sold it free of charge and with a regular contract to the Municipality of Realmonte on condition that a nature reserve.
The Municipality will soon take action to set up a foundation that will manage the management of this important asset, in collaboration with other associations including the Valle dei Templi Park Authority, the University Consortium of Agrigento and the Free Provincial Consortium of Agrigento.
The beach should be managed in particular by the Archaeological Park of the Valley of the Temples and should include an entrance fee. In particular, the ticket will be integrated with the entrance ticket for the Roman Villa of Contrada Durrueli, recently opened for use.
This management method will allow us to raise funds which will also be used for its maintenance.

Scala dei Turchi continues to be one of the most photographed and visited sites throughout the year due to its shape and color.
Many companies, over time, have chosen it as a site to shoot some commercials or fiction scenes.
Last in line is the jewelery company Pandora which launched a jewelry collection inspired by HBO's Game of Thrones in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery global consumer products.
On the suggestive cliff, in the commercial, you can see a black model, dressed in white, wearing jewels, who stands out against the white marl, with the sea and blue sky in the background.
Scala dei Turchi, in the past, has been chosen as the backdrop for famous commercials including that of Giorgio Armani.
