Davide, 3 years old, from Napoli, he defeated an ugly evil and made a dream come true. Upon exiting theSantobono pediatric hospital, where he was being treated, unexpectedly there were some agents from the Volanti waiting for him, who went to welcome him with the sirens explained. An unexpected gift, but very welcome for the child, who at his entrance to the hospital had expressed the desire to want to become a policeman.

Davide leaves the hospital

A secret revealed by mom

Davide had confided his dream to his mother, on the very sad day when the family was informed that the little one was suffering from a rare form of neoplasm. Become a policeman when you grow up and, in the meantime, wear the same uniform that some officers had at the time of the diagnosis received in the hospital courtyard. Even then, the latter, moved by that child and his dream, revealed by the mother eager to please her son, had made him get into one of their cars, to distract him from that particular moment.

The agents go to get him with the sirens out

Since then a difficult path has begun for Davide, from which, thanks to the help of the doctors of the Santobono in Naples, he has emerged victorious. The little one went through a long therapy, fighting like a warrior. On the day of his discharge from the hospital, the policemen wanted to participate in his party and that of the whole family. A "panther" from the Police Headquarters Flying Squad went to pick him up at the hospital, with sirens going, to give him the uniform of an agent and take him home.

Davide protagonist

In the images published on the Santobono's social profiles, Davide is seen happily wearing a policeman's uniform, welcomed by the agents who make him get on board the Volante, showing him the functioning of radios and sirens. An irrepressible joy for the child, who immediately felt himself a protagonist in front of so much attention. A deserved joy after so much suffering.

"He immediately became familiar with the agents"

Joseph Fusco, director of the Volanti di Napoli, described Davide's initial disbelief when, on leaving the hospital, he saw the police cars with illuminated sirens, followed by a lot of happiness and curiosity. “He immediately became familiar with the agents and with the cars. We taught him how to turn on the flashing lights, how to communicate via radio with the operations room. He started to literally jump for joy, amusing us and the medical staff present. He liked the situation so much - concluded Fusco - that when he heard the greetings on the radio that came for him from the operations center and from the other operating cars in the city, he wanted to reciprocate and was very good ".
