Hello everyone! My name is Gianluca Orlandi and for about 3 years I left a permanent job in London to start "looking for my place in the world".
I have since been on the road, making shorter or longer stops in different countries such as Mexico, Colombia and Thailand as I dedicate myself to growing my online business.

I began my experience of Italian abroad even before London in the Canary Islands back in 2009, specifically in Tenerife. I had the dream of living and working abroad, so I left for Spain in search of better job opportunities.
It was in Spain that I met a person who worked remotely for Italian companies thanks to the web. Meeting that helped me in some way to understand in which direction to continue. I wanted to gain independence from places and jobs, dedicating myself to projects that I was really passionate about.

Working on the web

In fact, I changed several jobs in my life, from mechanical designer to assistant cook, but I was not satisfied with what I was doing and above all I didn't see myself working in an office or restaurant all my life.
So I started to get interested in the professions related to the web with only one goal: to be able to gain my financial independence and be free to manage my time and my days according to my needs.

Work experience in London was essential to start working in the web marketing sector and gain experience with websites. Optimization of sites for search engines and social media marketing. I had found a permanent job in a sector that I finally liked, in a company where I was the only foreigner among the British. I had finally realized my dream but a bigger one was making its way into my head.

My office: the world

I wanted to create and grow personal projects related to the world of travel. And to do this by keeping an unconventional workplace as an office: the world.

During the last 6/8 working months in London I have saved a lot. By cutting back on outings and beers at the pub with friends and colleagues. Back in Italy I emptied the wardrobes. Everything I hadn't used in the past years in the UK is on sale. Clothes, books, a bicycle and even a car. All this allowed me to create a small budget. To cope with the first few months when I was earning very little from my new job.
I managed not to spend money on useless things. I became minimalist and moved "to the other side of the world". Where the cost of living is lower than in Italy. First in Mexico then in Thailand. To lower costs and have plenty of time to dedicate myself to growing my online business.

At the moment I manage full time several websites that I have personally founded and designed. On topics I'm passionate about in the travel industry.
Undoubtedly one of the most important is Traveling Free. Which is a travel blog where I tell all aspects of
travel low cost and the destinations I personally visit. In addition to the tricks I have used over the years to travel more for less.

I created the website from scratch http://www.cambiarevita.eu/ intended for an audience looking for information to move, live and work abroad, with a database of over 150 destinations (constantly growing) created with the help of other people who live or study around the world.
