The Le Muraglie farmhouse opened its doors in 1966. The one designed by Armando Roperti was a small trattoria and osteria, as well as a grocery store. Together with his paternal grandparents he pioneered a completely new proposal in this area of Calabria: catering. The position on the provincial road that led to Catanzaro was undoubtedly favored: the only artery connecting the small internal municipalities and the Calabrian capital. But Armando and his wife Matilde devoted little time to it at the beginning as they resided in Switzerland. The tavern meshed and the two returned for good in '72. They brought together the knowledge and skills acquired during years and years of working in hotels and restaurants of the renowned tourist resort of Zermatt in this family restaurant.
In '91 the restaurant, managed by Mrs. Matilde, became in effect a farm and, as such, continued to be supplied with vegetables and wines produced on its own land. And also the meats were homegrown and from local farms. Furthermore, they were consumed very fresh because, being without refrigerators, the slaughter took place for a few quantities at a time. In 2011 the Cristina Butera Agricultural Company was added, dedicated to the cultivation of three hectares of vineyards. In 2019 the architect and the pivot of all this passed away. But his wife, children and daughter-in-law continue to carry on Armando's work with honor and passion.
Over the years it has expanded, growing in size, quality and, above all, in reputation. There are many appointments he has been awarded. In 1995 it was first included in Osterie d'Italia, Subsidiary of the Italian-style mangiarbere published by Slow Food. In 2010 Armando Roperti received recognition from the municipal administration and the Pro Loco of Conflenti as one of the pioneers in enhancing typical local products through the art of cooking, becoming an ambassador of conflict on the major Italian culinary magazines. In 2016 he received the Tripadvisor certificate of excellence. In 2017 a double recognition.

The Le Muraglie farmhouse is reported in Autostrada del Mediterraneo: guide to travel with taste and Calabria: guide to the flavors and pleasures of the Region both published by la Repubblica and both in search of Calabrian excellences. The latter also proposes it again in the 2019 edition. In the same year we find it in Guide to restaurants in Calabria, by Ottavio Cavalcanti and Gianfranco Manfredi, published by Rubbettino. And in Trattorias of Italy among the 1500 places where you can eat as once indicated by the Italian Touring Club. This year, then, the great return in the pages of the thirtieth edition of Osteria of Italy, of Slow Food. All these renowned magazines have been fascinated and delighted by the traditional, genuine and home cooking. The well presented dishes, the rich and homemade appetizer, which involves you and transports you to the purest Calabrian. The first hand-made dishes, the flavors of the autumn forest, and grilled meat from local farmers. To top it off: traditional confusing sweets. These, the same reasons why we recommend it.
