The thesis

Giulio Deangeli discussed a thesis entitled "A symphony of sciences", dedicated to "Single cell transcriptomics". It wants to underline the path he has taken to have the necessary skills to fight against neurodegeneration. The speaker is Paul Mancarella, rector of the Pisan university. The co-supervisors are the professor Benedetta Mennucci of the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa, e Yuri Bozzi, professor of Physiology at the University of Trento and at Cimec - Center for Mind / Brain Sciences.

"I dedicate this result to those who have been by my side on this journey"

At the end of the discussion of the thesis, Giulio Deangeli expressed his great emotion and thanked those who supported him in his studies. “I wish to dedicate this result - he said - to all those who have been by my side on this journey. My family, my best friend Samuele Cannas, all my dear friends, and the over 400 teachers I had the honor of following and who opened the doors of knowledge to me with formidable professionalism and humanity. I would like to extend a special thanks to my rectors, Professor Paolo Mancarella and the professor Sabina Nuti. Both drive the best of all the places where I could have studied with extraordinary competence and love: the university system of Pisa ". Listening to him were some of the leading Italian neuroscientists. With them, too Carlo Maria Rosati, an internationally renowned surgeon and friend of his. The latter, ten years ago, in Pisa was the first student in Italy to take two degrees in three months.

The satisfaction of the rectors

The incredible result achieved by the brilliant Giulio Deangeli was proudly commented by professors Mancarella and Nuti. "It is not just a record that makes headlines, it is the fruit of an exemplary dedication to study and knowledge," said the former. “I wish Giulio to maintain this approach to Research also in his future challenges, which I am sure he will face with great commitment, seriousness, but also creativity ”, declared Professor Nuti. Giulio Deangeli it is a true Italian excellence that we will still hear a lot about. A promising young man, a great example to follow for many willing young people like him.
