The 2012 vintage, a revenge for the Allegrini company

The best red wine in the world of 2020 therefore dates back to the production of 2012. It has a particular significance for the company, which believed in the project. After a pause of over 25 years, in fact, the Allegrini family has invested in the company relaunch and the results were not long in coming. The production was stopped in 1985 by a disease that struck the vines causing the planting of the entire vineyard. The entrepreneurs were not discouraged, and in 2001 they decided to revive the vineyard. After 10 years, necessary for the vines to return to being physiologically ripe for a new production, the historic reserve was able to be reborn with the 2011 vintage. The next one, in 2012, proved to be the decisive one, and brought the red Fieramonte back into vogue.

A limited production

The best red wine in the world of 2020 comes from a vineyard located in the high hills, facing east on the Allegrini estate. It is a wine particularly appreciated for its deep and full taste. “The grapes that come from Fieramonte - commented Marilisa Allegrini, marketing manager of the family business - have a particular aromatic intensity thanks to the morning sun that hits the vineyard. The result is a wine that combines power, great structure, therefore excellent longevity but also great elegance ". Production is limited to no more than 5 thousand bottles a year.

"A great prize"

The important recognition attributed to Amarone was commented with satisfaction by Marilisa Allegrini herself. “It has been forty years - declared the entrepreneur - that I have been telling the world about Valpolicella, Verona, Corvina and withering, with great love and passion. This recognition from a major magazine, and in a complicated year, makes me very happy. And it is a great prize for my brother Franco, who was stubborn. He waited until this vineyard had the physiological maturity to make a cru di Amarone, which is a wine that enjoys a lot of the production technique ".
