THEArgentina is world champion, the latin american team won the fifa world cup championship which ended tonight in Qatar beating France. The final, played at the Losail stadium, ended after more than 3 hours of play between regulation time (finished 2-2) and overtime which always ended in a draw (3-3). Up to the penalty shoot-out thanks to which the Argentines clearly prevailed over the French, winning 4-2.

Just with the world victory, Lionel Messi joins Diego Armando Maradona in the history of football. The well-known footballer lacked this important title, pursued in vain in the last four editions of the World Cup, to win a place in the Olympus of the greatest footballers of all time. Qatar and the final won against France give him that place that if he hadn't won today he would never have reached again. Messi is the man who brought the Albiceleste national team back to the top of the world, thirty-six years after the great feat accomplished by Diego Armando Maradona.
The party for the victory of the albiceleste also exploded on the streets of Naples, the Neapolitan capital that has a deep veneration for the great Maradona. Diego Armando, an idol, a hero: the city has dedicated the San Paolo stadium to him; fans have also created many murals in different areas of the city to pay homage to pibe of gold. Paying homage to the ever-forgotten idol, the Neapolitans are celebrating Messi and the whole Argentina team that took back the World Cup after the 1986 world victory.
