March 4, 1943, Lucio Dalla would have turned 80 today. In Italy there are many public initiatives that commemorate the great artist who left an indelible mark on the world of music and the Italian singer-songwriter. After the great success of the biographical exhibition that last year commemorated the tenth anniversary of his death, Bologna (his hometown) celebrates Dalla's eighty years with "Lucio ottanta", a series of events already underway for a few days and which they will finish tomorrow.

The inauguration of a plaque on the artist's birthplace in Piazza Cavour and the historic scroll on the last house where Dalla lived and worked in via D'Azeglio are scheduled. Bologna 'runs and sings' remembering Lucio Dalla and awarding official medals for two races of 30 and 21 kilometers in the “Bologna Marathon 2023”. Also on the calendar is the presentation of the book, "The park of the moon", illustrated by Sarah Mazzetti from Bologna and published by Ciao Discoteca Italiana. The proceeds from the sales will go to the Sant'Orsola Polyclinic Foundation which will dedicate a park to the very young patients of the pediatric ward. Also for the eightieth birthday, lo State of San Marino pays homage to Lucio Dalla with the issue of a postage stamp.

The exhibition in Naples

Also today, March 4, the exhibition “Lucio Dalla. The dream of being Neapolitan" al Man, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. The exhibition, which will be open to the public until 25 June, is promoted by the Lucio Dalla Foundation and the Ministry of Culture with the collaboration and support of the Campania Region and the Campania Festival Foundation. The event is part of the "Il Mann per la città" initiative, commissioned by the museum director Paolo Giulierini, with the involvement of Archivio Luce Cinecittà, Rai, Siae, Universal Music with the Skira editore catalogue.
