Suggestive promenade between stones of Matera, to experience a suggestive atmosphere at sunset. A unique moment, a vaguely retro atmosphere to retrace the steps of the farmers' return to their old houses at dusk, reliving and recalling the customs of the past.
The Sassi at sunset
The walk among the Sassi of Matera is scheduled for next July 28 and August 4. The pleasant walk will end with a tasting of typical products.
How to Get There:
From Piazza Duomo. Leave the Cathedral on your left and take via San Potito crossing the underpass at the end of the square. Continue along the road and after about 20 metres, enter Recinto Cavone, taking the stairway on the right, after Via Muro. From the Sasso Caveoso. Starting from Piazza San Pietro Caveoso, proceed along Via Muro until you reach Via San Potito, turn right. And, after about 20 meters, enter Recinto Cavone, going down the steps on the right.
FAI summer evenings
From June to September the sere FAI in Summer. A rich calendar of events in the FAI assets including villas, castles, monasteries, abbeys, towers, but also natural areas, parks and gardens. Wonders of Italy that will exceptionally remain open beyond the usual opening hours to offer the unprecedented experience of a visit at sunset. To participate in special initiatives or enjoy the magical atmosphere of summer evenings, immersed in unique places.
Among the many proposals: picnic on the lawn, aperitifs in the shade of centenary trees or in the loggia and dinners under the stars or by candlelight. And, again, concerts and shows in the moonlight, astronomy lessons and thematic guided tours. There is no shortage of meetings and conferences, but also trekking and guided evening walks to discover the beauties that surround the Assets of the FAI.
