The Cove of Rovaglioso di Palmi
Crystal clear waters, enchanting seabeds, uncontaminated nature, magnificent landscape, these are the characteristics that have allowed Caletta di Roviglioso to conquer the top of the ranking of the most deserted beaches and still far from being widely used in all of Europe. This site, known only to experts, is located a short distance from Reggio Calabria, within the municipality of Palmi.
For some years now, the cove has been made more usable: it has a small road made up of easily accessible steps and with fences even if you descend directly into the sea. There are no beaches by the sea, nor other activities.
It is a natural cove, bordered by cliffs and ravines shaped by time and water erosion. All around there is a luxuriant and lush nature, the typical Mediterranean scrub, with orange blossom, prickly pears, oleanders, etc.
The legends
Also known as port of Orestes, this site is linked to the legend of the hero who, after having avenged his father Agamemnon, killed his mother Clytemnestra and her lover Aegisthus, wandered around the Mediterranean landing in this area in order to then regain his lost mind; he regained it by immersing himself seven times in the waters of Rovaglioso.

Lo studio has revealed a list of the most beautiful secret beaches in Europe, using TripAdvisor for ratings, number of reviews with text and location; in the top 10 there are 6 Italian beaches. La Caletta di palmi scored 9,15/10. Other beaches located throughout Europe are also in the ranking.

Another recognition for Calabria which counts one of its sites among the most beautiful beaches of Italy awarded by the Legambiente competition “You are the most beautiful”.
