The most beautiful sea in 2023 is that of Puglia. In fact there are three Apulian towns that this year have obtained the coveted Cinque Vele banner, which rewards the best seaside and lake coastal towns in Italy.
The most beautiful sea is in Puglia
The guide "The most beautiful sea 2023", now in its 23rd edition, was presented in Rome by Legambiente and the Italian Touring Club. The recognition is given to those who know how to best combine territories and places of excellence with courageous and innovative sustainable development strategies. Throughout Italy there are 21 awarded locations, those in Puglia are Nardo, second in the general classification, e Porto Cesareo (21ma), both in the Ionian high Salento, in the province of Lecce. New entry is Vieste (Foggia), in Gargano, awarded for the first time and arrived in 17th position.
With its three banners, the Puglia is the third region in Italy after Sardinia (seven) and Tuscany (four), and is on a par with Campania. Among this year's novelties also the delivery, during the press conference to present the guide, of the nine plaques for good coastal management practices. Plaques assigned to the best experiences that public administrations, organizations or private businesses have put in place. In this regard, the Apulian Municipality of Lecce, in the Landscape Integrity category, received the award for the master plan for the regeneration of its marinas.
