On November 25th, live from the stage of the Teatro Dal Monaco in Treviso, the launch of Prosecco DOC Rosé followed by Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, USA and Canada, up to the Far East. The history, the numbers, the anecdotes, of an unparalleled success between technical explanations, glam contributions and musical contributions

Treviso, 25 November 2020. Historic day for the Prosecco DOC Protection Consortium which celebrated its new born, Prosecco DOC Rosé, with a first launch reserved for the press carried out live from the stage of the Teatro Dal Monaco in Treviso. 

An unpredictable context for a wine, suitable to underline the love for culture and art in all its expressions, of a Denomination born in 2009, capable in ten years of consolidating itself, success after success, until it reaches the current dimensions that place it, in Italy, at the top of all with 24.450 hectares, approximately 500 million bottles and a turnover of a couple of billion. A territory distributed between Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, a region that can boast the small and famous town of Prosecco from which the name of the same Denomination derives which has found in Veneto, in recent centuries, its chosen territory and consequently the deserved international success. 

The event took place on November 25th at 18.00 Italian time, an unusual but necessary time to allow the American public to follow the direct conduct of Pietro Polidori, a polyglot anchorman who has been entrusted with the task of guiding a busy program in three different languages. enriched by institutional and technical interventions, glamorous testimonies and musical interludes. 

An exhibition full of national and international endorsements, from Japan to the USA, which involved chefs, sommeliers, Masters of Wine and influencers, who wanted to greet the newborn Prosecco DOC Rosé in their own way.

A marathon that lasted just over an hour, followed live by Prosecco houses, the Consortium's operating offices located around the world, which a New York, London, Hamburg, they involved journalists and selected operators in their area of ​​expertise.

The program was characterized by pressing interventions by international lifestyle experts such as the Italian influencer Giulia Gaudino or the Japanese writer and cartoonist Mari Yamazaki, and embellished with musical interludes to the notes of Donizetti (with the arias Buone Nuove Norina and Pronta io son ...) interpreted by soprano Federica Gasparella and baritone Nicola Zanibon, accompanied on the piano by Paolo Polon. 

After the opening speech, dutifully entrusted to the President of the Consortium Stefano Zanette to trace a historical excursus of this great denomination, reporting the reasons for the current results - from the planning of the offer, to the obligation of the mark and from the promotional activities to those related to the environment - and the reasons that led to the choice of including the new rosé type, personalities of the caliber of chef Carlo Cracco alternated with their testimonies - who illustrated a recipe specially developed to be combined with Prosecco Doc Rosé- and Lidia Bastianich who from New York has attested the great interest and the great expectation of Americans for Prosecco DOC Rosé.

It then fell to the Director Luca Giavi to detail the intense protection and promotion activities carried out by the Consortium "Our presence in this theater -explained Giavi- it expresses our closeness to the territory, to culture and art, as well as to sport. We show our gratitude to the territory to which we belong - and to which we owe so much - through support and collaboration initiatives like this one, launched with the Teatro Stabile Veneto. Our goal now is to intensify the operations to enhance the peculiarities of the different areas of our appellation, starting with the province of Trieste where the Prosecco appellation finds its roots ".

Deputy Director Andrea Battistella brought his experience as an oenologist in guiding the tasting to the discovery of Prosecco DOC rosé: from the correct opening of the bottle, through the analysis of the color, which recalls the rosebud and cherry blossoms and of the aspects sensory, suggesting to the guests connected on line of "Look for the delicate notes of strawberry and raspberry with the nose and the creaminess of the bubbles with the palate together with the refinement and elegance of the taste sensations guaranteed by a stay on the lees" As well as the opening moment, the grand finale was also entrusted to President Stefano Zanette , translated simultaneously in both English and German "First of all, I thank the many subjects who have made it possible to achieve this important result: Local, National and Community Bodies, our producers, trade associations and the Board of Directors, with whom we shared the path, working cohesively with the goal to protect and enhance our productions. Now all our attention and our energies will go in the direction of sustainability, more precisely towards obtaining the sustainability certification of the entire denomination -said Zanette raising the glass of rosé- and my deepest hope is that soon we will meet to toast by welcoming the Prosecco DOC Green, on the contrary: more and more green!".
