The most famous archaeologist of cinema in one of the symbolic places of Greek history. The city was chosen together with other places in Sicily as the film set of the fifth chapter of the saga played by Harrison Ford. And the American actor is in these days on the island to shoot the scenes, in the various chosen sets, very armored, but which have aroused a lot of curiosity.
Two sites in Syracuse for the filming of "Indiana Jones"
The production has chosen the Ear of Dionysus and the Maniace Castle for the scenes in Syracuse. And the first take in the archaeological area of Neapolis has already been there. A big blow for the city which, among other things, is applying for the capital of culture. And in fact the site of the Latomia del Paradiso was closed for a week for the preparation of the set. Day 6, however, the shooting will be at Castello Maniace. Which for the occasion will be off-limits. Spectacular sequences, special effects, with the sea area near the Frederick manor closed to navigation.

The other places in Sicily chosen for the shooting

Little is known about the plot of the film directed by director James Mangold, but what is certain is that in addition to SIRACUSA the shooting will be in other Sicilian cities. The production also made inspections in Noto, Marsala, Cefalù, Segesta. Something is also known about these places: it seems that in Marsala, thanks to the special effects, a vintage yacht will sink in the waters of the Stagnone. In Cefalù, on the other hand, the setting of an ancient Sicilian village of 1969, a transformed bar complete with the sign of the old Cinzano. The castings for the extras were made in the Trapani area. In addition to Harrison Ford, Toby Jones, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Antonio Banderas will arrive in Sicily.
