The city of Livorno was hit by a strong storm that lasted several hours, causing flooding in various areas, from the far north to the south, including the center. The teams of firefighters are working to address flooding in garages, basements and problems related to damaged roofs.
In the southern area of Livorno, due to strong winds, a sofa was blown away from a balcony, knocking down an electric lighting pole. The road accidents there were numerous due to the wet roads, with queues both entering and leaving the city. The overpass was closed following a second accident in the station area, resulting in traffic block.
In the town of Antignano, a tornado caused considerable damage, with overturned cars and a baseball field fence that was uprooted and crashed into cars.

The president of the Toscana, Eugenio Giani, informed about the situation and declared that the Civil Protection system is active to manage fallen trees and flooding. River levels are under control, but the Tora in Collesalvetti has exceeded the second threshold, with the expectation of a decline in the next few hours.
The bad weather also affected the movement of trains, with repercussions on the Pisa-Rome railway line. Delays of up to 60 minutes were recorded for Intercity and Regional trains, with possible route limitations and cancellations.
Roads were hit by heavy rain, with via Firenze and via Provinciale Pisana closed in Livorno. In Lucca, the meadows under the city walls are flooded in various places due to heavy rainfall.
The weather warning is in effect in some parts of Tuscany, with code orange for strong storms and hydrogeological risk. Schools, gardens and public parks were closed in various municipalities in the province of Massa Carrara and in Livorno due to adverse weather conditions. The weather emergency began on 18 October with flooding in Follonica following intense rainfall.
