The project, which is taking place by sea, 'put off' on 6 May and calls for stops in 18 ports to promote issues related to marine protection. Another objective is the promotion of behavior based on sustainable choices, through conferences and meetings. Furthermore, we want to tell and collect stories of characters who live on the coasts and whose narration will end up in a book entitled 'Seafront' (Minerva editions) with a preface by the governor Eugenio Giani. The initiative was born in collaboration with three departments of the Tuscany Region: to the Environment, Infrastructures and Tourism.

Meeting in Marina di Porto Azzurro on the Island of Elba

It is with this premise that the Marina of Porto Azzurro arranged for the evening of Thursday 13 July at 21.30 directly on the breakwater, between boats and strolls, an evening dedicated to the history of Porto Azzurro. The suggestive locality of Elba this year reaches the 419th anniversary of its foundation; the interviews are edited by Massimo Canino. Also on stage were Mayor Maurizio Papi, Professor Roberta Cecchini and Empolo Fresta, one of the last miners in the area. From the change of name from Porto Longone to Porto Azzurro to the origins of the village and the still visible traces of the Spanish domination. From the mining past of the area with memories, anecdotes, stories of life to the history of a country that with its incomparable square on the sea, the poetry and beauty of the characteristic corners and its economic realities, looks to the future after its first 419 years.
