Agrigento will be the Italian capital of Culture 2025, the proclamation took place today at the Ministry of Culture in Rome in the presence of Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano and all the mayors of the finalist cities. The title of Italian capital of culture is conferred for a period of one year. The first city to win the award was Mantua in 2016, then Pistoia (2017), Palermo (2018) and Parma in 2020, also extended in 2021 due to the pandemic. Last year Procida, in 2023 Bergamo and Brescia.
