Civil and religious unions had a positive trend even in the low season as in April and October.

Getting married on the islands, in particular on the island of Favignana, is also a holiday opportunity. And a way to share with your guests the knowledge of places that fascinate especially those who discover them for the first time.

Last year the first civil wedding was celebrated at the former Florio factory.

James, an internationally renowned architect, born in Italy but residing in London for many years. Karly, chef at a well-known restaurant in Florence, originally from Washington. Both the bride and groom and guests from different parts of the world were thrilled.

The couple chose the island of Favignana after having been there on vacation and after having literally fallen in love with it.

Favignana Island is the largest of the Egadi Islands

THEFavignana Island it has an urban nucleus dense with white buildings and expanses of parched earth interrupted by the chasms of the old tuff quarries often camouflaged by the green of the shrubs.

One of the most significant and well-known symbols of the island of Favignana is certainly the former Florio factory. Built on the site of the first buildings used to house the boats loaded with large fish. After years of oblivion, the former Florio factory has come back to life, transforming itself into a great museum of the fishing civilization and of the Egadi people. Within this immense area, everything has remained in place. The machinery, equipment, nets, barrels, cans for preserves and the large slaughter boats.

Also remembers the famous battle of the Egadi which opposed the Romans to the Carthaginians on 10 March 241 BC.

Next summer, inside the trap, the turtle veterinary clinic treated by the marine area protected by the Egadi will be transferred. It has saved dozens of specimens stumbled on nets, hooks or plastic bags.
