It will start tomorrow, September 28th, at Lecce, the second edition of Yeast Photo Festival. The event combines food, photography and visual arts to rethink the relationship between man and the environment. Directed by Flavio & Frank and Veronica Nicolardi, edited by Edda Fahrenhorst, Yeast Photo Festival is organized by cultural associations besafe e Onthemove, with the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, Puglia Region, Province of Lecce, City of Lecce, Municipality of Matino, Unisalento FAI-Lecce delegation of the Salento jonico group. There are several events scheduled: exhibitions, talks and participatory projects.
Food as nourishment for body and soul
Yeast Photo Festival is the international festival that invites us to reflect on the theme of food as an identifying element. Looking at what we eat is enough to understand something about ourselves and the society around us. More precisely, the theme is “Food is identity” and, in this 2023 edition, “Soulfood. And Beyond”: food as nourishment not only for the body, but also for the soul, between consolation, closeness, passion, strength and love in every moment of our lives.
12 exhibitions and 1 collective to reflect on humanity and the planet
This second edition of Yeast Photo Festival, scheduled until November 12, 2023, will take place between the Salento village of Matino and the city of Lecce, in Puglia. There are a total of 12 exhibitions and 1 collective exhibition on the programme. The projects aim to stimulate reflection on the state of humanity and planet Earth. There are several artists in this edition. Between these: Olaf Breuning, Niall McDiarmid, Mario Wezel, Lars Borges & Luzie Kurth, Alain Schroeder, Henry Hargreaves, Dougie Wallace, Maria Giovanna Giugliano, Tereza Jobová, Matthieu Nicol, Elena Subach, Lys Arango. Among the guests, confirmed the chef and television presenter Alessandro Borghese. Among the special events that will close the event, the concert in collaboration with Locomotives Jazz Festival.
