In a few decades, robots and other devices equipped with artificial intelligence will crowd the sidewalks around the world. And many of these will be made in Italy! In fact, some time ago we told you about Gita and Kilo, the robotic trolleys by Piaggio. Today it is the turn of Yep, the small automated messenger of the Milanese e-Novia.

Yape: a robot for our expeditions

Presented last year by e-Novia, the Yape robot is now close to launch on the market. In fact, the last tests will start in September and, if everything goes as planned, for December will be available to the public. But what exactly is Yape? It is a robotic device capable of making small deliveries in the city. Thanks to the technology developed by e-Novia, Yape can cover short and medium distances in total autonomy, delivering packages up to 70 kg. At first glance it looks like a simple trunk with two wheels, but its sensors guarantee it an unimaginable freedom until a few years ago. Yape's eyes can safely interpret road signs, traffic lights, traffic and more, ensuring relatively short delivery times. And his first official jobs will be in one of the cities where it is more difficult to move: Milano. With the aim of conquering all the great metropolises.

Features

As already mentioned, Yape's sensors are of the latest generation and allow total and full freedom of movement. Two small electric motors guarantee it an autonomy of about 80 km, with a speed that varies from 6 to 20 km / h. To contact him just use theofficial app made available by e-Novia, and in a short time the robot will come to collect our package. Once all the data has been entered, this will leave for delivery. With a continuous update of maps and traffic, Yape will calculate the fastest route. And upon arrival, a face sensor will ascertain the recipient, so as to deliver the load to the right person. In short, a real technological prodigy that testifies to the great commitment of Italian companies in this sector!
