The whole family of italiani.it looks forward to the arrival of the “Week of the Italian Language in the World 2022” with a particular feeling compared to past years; almost with the euphoric impatience of children waiting for a party. For the italiani.it network it is still an appointment with a strong emotional as well as cultural imprint, given the involvement of all the it scattered around the world and the associations affiliated with them (let's think back, for example, to the participation and enthusiasm profuse last year by the Latin Americans who, all united, gave life to prestigious transversal initiatives on the occasion of Dante's eighteenth century), but this year there is one more reason to get excited: theAcademy of italiani.it.
A project that involved, to some extent, all the members of the network along a complex, sometimes tortuous path, made up of a few tears and many smiles, up to this October 2022, in which the italians.it population can proudly affirm to finally have its own Academy of language and culture with all the credentials to allow many generations to come to study Italy and Italian. From the departure of itAccademia, last summer, we have already awarded 4 scholarships and the Foundation's commitment will increasingly be aimed at young people. So, given that this year's theme will be precisely "Italian and young people", it is absolutely together with young people, indeed very young, that we have decided to celebrate the "Week of the Language" thanks to an idea of the president of the italiani.it Foundation Paola Stranges promoting a online meeting with the children of the itChile.it community to be held on Sunday afternoon 23 October at 16 pm (Santiago time - 21 pm in Italy).
Chilean children aged 9 to 12 will connect on Zoom in a virtual classroom with Italy, from which our leading teacher Antonina Kravtsova, transforming herself for the occasion into teacher Nina, will make them live an afternoon of conversation, fairy tales, nursery rhymes and songs in Italian. It will be a great thrill to meet so many children of Italian descendants, members of one of the most active communities in supporting, promoting and spreading the Italian culture, that is the Chilean one, coordinated with passion by our Mirtha Aldunce. The twenty-second edition of the "Week" (organized by the cultural and diplomatic network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Accademia della Crusca, the Chairs of Italian Studies active at the various universities abroad, the Committees of the Dante Alighieri and the Associations of Italian emigrants, under the high patronage of the President of the Republic) will take place, as always, in the third week of October, from 17 to 23. And the International Academy of Italian Culture of italiani.it will assign in those days also two new scholarships.
