The activity "It Academy with the children of itChile ”was a great success thanks also to the experience and sympathy of Professor Antonina who won the hearts of the little ones. The fathers and mothers, who were with their children, were proud and happy to hear them utter words in Italian. The teacher Nina taught them to introduce themselves in Italian. Gradually and timidly some of their voices could be heard saying their names. “My name is…” Then came the different ways of saying good morning, goodbye, hello, good afternoon, good evening or good night. The protagonist of the class was the puppy Pimpa, a nice friend who accompanied them throughout the lesson.

Teaching Italian to children from an early age

The importance of teaching Italian to children from an early age cannot be denied. The greatest participation of children occurred at the time of learning colors. Everyone wanted to make an example of an object that was green, yellow, red, white, orange or blue. But they haven't just learned how to say colors. They also learned to say the colors of the Italian flag and the Chilean flag in Italian.

The children also traveled virtually through Italy. Professor Nina asked them if they knew the names of Italian cities and some of them mentioned the cities they had heard about. Nina then showed them the chosen city on the map of Italy. They were also learning geography and also how to say where they lived: "Where do you live? " asked the teacher Nina, to whom the children replied "I live in Santiago, I live in Chile". The children were so happy that at the end of the lesson they still wanted to continue. It was a great experience for the children, for the teacher and for the parents, all united by the love for the Italian language!
