Today is World Nutella Day, the world day dedicated to Nutella, the spreadable cream invented by the entrepreneur Michele Ferrero, in 1964. The annual appointment with the sweetest of confectionery goodness was born on February 5, 2007 from an idea of Sara rosso, American food blogger passionate about Nutella. All fans of this delicious cream liked her intuition so much, that every year, on this day, they share images, ideas, inspirations and recipes on social media.

World Nutella Day

A passion to share

The World Nutella Day, in 2015 was transferred from Sara to the Ferrero, a company from Alba (Cuneo). The initiative aims to bring together the world community to share the passion for Nutella together. Everyone is invited to participate with the publication of images of their Nutella day with the hashtag #worldnutelladay.

A success from the beginning

In 1951, the Piedmontese pastry chef Pietro Ferrero creates the so-called "SuperCrema", designed for children's snacks. In later years, his son Michele decides to perfect this hazelnut, milk and cocoa cream and, after several attempts, reaches the perfect balance between consistency and sweetness. Nutella was born which takes its name from "nut", in English hazelnut, accompanied by the Italian suffix "ella". The first jar was produced on April 20, 1964. Nutella immediately achieved great success, not only in Italy, but also in Germany, where it was released the following year, and in France. Become a costume phenomenon, a real passion for young and old. An irresistible passion. Today more than ever.
