La Milan Fashion Week 2023, staged since 19 25 to September, proposed on its opening day, a fashion show entrusted to particular models, that is women who have recovered from breast cancer and who showed, together with their clothes, their wounds to demonstrate that cancer can be overcome and life can return.
The solidarity initiative at Milan Fashion Week 2023
The parade I/Deal, which saw these women protagonists on the catwalk set up in the Foyer of the University's Aula Magna Bocconi of Milan, was created by the non-profit organization Cancer Culture under the patronage of National Chamber of Italian Fashion. The aim is to raise awareness as many people as possible to participate in prevention campaigns tumor which still affects many women but especially women raise funds for oncology research.
The models
Twenty exceptional models courageously and confidently showed the marks left by the operation to remove breast cancer. The designer created the clothes for their fashion show Amelianna Loiacono. On the catwalk, wedding dresses, cloaks, tight trousers and figure-hugging skirts, among large jackets that allowed the models to carry and express themselves. Women of various nationalities were present, all united by the victory over the disease.
Reaffirm violated femininity
The models got involved, they wanted to show themselves and become concrete witnesses in the fight against breast cancer while also celebrating their femininity with games of transparencies and shades, fresh, light fabrics, embellished with embroidery.
The very particular parade thrilled and involved those who participated due to the power of the message. In particular, two of the protagonists have wanted to show their wounds who tell of so much suffering and who testify to their courage.
An event to raise awareness
Once again, join Fashion, art and solidarity it was a winning move to present one of the many awareness projects aimed at stemming the spread of this serious pathology which affects not only women but also men.
The proceeds from the tickets for the parade, organized by the acreative agency Art+Vibes, was intended for Ieo-Monzino Foundation and the Piedmontese Foundation for Cancer Research.
