Tropea, the pearl of the Calabrian Tyrrhenian Sea, in the international circuit of vintage lateen sails. There Coast of the Gods Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 will host the special kermesse that will bring historic boats from all over the South to the crystal clear Tropea sea.

Organized by the cultural association ASD Vela Latina of Catona (Reggio Calabria), the two-day event will be inaugurated at 11 on Saturday 15 with the opening of the nautical base and the display of boats on land at the headquarters of the ASD Vela Club in Tropea. At sea there will be 6 boats of about 5 – 6 meters in length. "History of the Tropea and Southern Tyrrhenian seafaring". This is the theme of the debate scheduled for 18,30 pm, which will be attended by qualified speakers coordinated by Monica La Torre, a member of theASD Sailing Club of Tropea.
Among the guests were the president of the association Sabatino La Torre, the president of the Antica Marineria Catonese association Luigi Stilo, the mayor of Tropea Giovanni Macrì, the commander of the Port Authority of Vibo Valentina Luigi Spalluto. Giovanni Caputo, an expert in seafaring traditions and Vincenzo Calzona, director of the Civic Museum of Ricadi (MuRi). On Sunday 16, starting at 11, the sailing will take place in the body of water in front of the sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola. Finally, the award ceremony is scheduled for 18. The demonstration will be documented by all the media, disseminated on the national portal of the Italian Sailing Federation.
