The journey of Palestinian children
From Shayma, a little girl of just 5 years old, who carries the weight of an amputated foot on her shoulders and a soul marked by trauma, to Jana, a young girl of 12 years old who, despite being forced to undergo dialysis, shows extraordinary desire to heal.
Each child contains a unique and touching story. They are the undisputed protagonists of this extraordinary odyssey, guided with dedication by the Crisis Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the Italian ambassador in Cairo, Michele Quaroni.

A tale of hope
Every gesture of solidarity, even the smallest, like the gift of a toy to make the journey lighter. It also contributes to strengthening the bond of humanity that unites nations during crises.
The most seriously injured were transported to the military area ofCairo airport via ambulances, while the companions and those less seriously ill traveled in small vans.
Accompanied by a delegation fromFarnesina crisis unit, led by the manager Nicola Minasi, together with the healthcare and military personnel of the Air Force, representatives of the Italian embassy in Cairo, journalists and Italian media operators.

In Italy, 86 wounded and sick Palestinians have been welcomed so far, including 29 minors. Of these, 24 arrived on a military flight on January 19, while another 62 arrived on board the Vulcano hospital ship, which recently returned from the port of Al Arish, in North Sinai, where it operated for about two months.
