Covid is increasingly widespread among young and very young people, meanwhile another all-Italian vaccine is being tested: Takis. Starting from the end of January, the incidence of Covid-19 cases in the under 20 age group has exceeded, for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, that of the older population groups. This is underlined by aFocus on the developmental age ' produced byIss and presented last Friday at Sat. The January / February incidence was around 150 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.
As regards the trend of today's infections, the Ministry of Health announces that the new positive cases registered in the last 24 hours 13.114 (yesterday 17.455). The new deaths are 246 (yesterday 192); the discharged healed today are 10.894 (yesterday 6.847). Overall, the positive cases are 424.333 (yesterday 422.367). The swabs carried out are 170.633, currently in intensive care are hospitalized 2289 people infected with the virus. Finally, in home isolation they remain 402.932 Covid positive subjects.
The virus spread among young and very young people
The highest value is recorded between the ages of 13-19, just under 200 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in the smallest it is lower. In the younger age groups, among the diagnosed cases there are very few serious ones, while the mild ones are about 60 per cent. The rest are not very symptomatic.
The report also surveyed the absolute number of cases in the under 20 age group, which were over 106 in November and then dropped to around 61 in both December and January. Also in November, the peak of admissions to intensive care for these groups was reached: 53 patients. The number then dropped to 25 in December and 21 in January. Same trend for deaths, eight in November.
The trial on the Italian Takis vaccine is underway
In the meantime, the experimentation of the all-Italian anti Covid-19 vaccine has started, conceived by Takis of Castel Romano (Rome) and developed in collaboration with Rottapharm Biotech of Monza. The first healthy volunteer of the 80 scheduled for phase 1 was vaccinated today in the San Gerardo hospital in Monza.
It is one of the three Italian centers involved in the experimentation, in collaboration with the University of Milano-Bicocca. The study also involves the National Cancer Institute Pascale Foundation of Naples el'National Institute of Infectious Diseases Lazzaro Spallanzani of Rome.
