The twelve Italian films chosen
Among the films nominated to represent Italy in the most prestigious international film award we find many directors rewarded at the last Venice Film Festival, at the Cannes Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival. There is still a tomorrow by Paola Cortellesi will open in October XVIII Rome Film Festival.
It is a varied offering with interesting stories and plots, auteur films and genre films.
Films that have been released or will be released in the period between 1 December 2022 and 31 October 2023 have submitted their candidacy for the title.
Here are the Italian films with their directors who will compete for the title of Best foreign film at the 2024 Oscars.

How will the choice of the Italian film that will represent Italy be made
The selection commission, established at theANICA at the request ofAcademy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will meet to vote on the designated title on 20 September 2023. Only one film will be chosen to undertake the journey towards the Oscar 2024. The presentation of the project is scheduled for December 21st category shortlist that if he managed to pass that selection too, he could obtain an official nomination for the Award.
The Nominations of the films competing for the statuette will be announced ion January 23, 2024 while the Oscar award ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on March 10 2024.
