"US Lecce announces that the relative majority shareholder Renè Picciotto has sold its entire shareholding in the shareholder structure to the shareholder Chairman Saverio Sticchi Damiani at a price equal to the investment made up to now. The sale agreement already defined and concluded in the last few days will be formalized on 1 July, the date set for the closing.
After having contributed, together with all the partners, to the development of the company, both in financial terms and in entrepreneurial experience, Renè Picciotto felt that this was the best time to step aside. The newly won Serie A and the entry of new partners created the ideal conditions for the company to face this handover in a serene way and without any backlash. Renè Picciotto's wish is that the members who have managed the company so far can, together with the new members, continue to achieve further ambitious sporting goals.
Renè Picciotto has preferred, as a matter of priority, to offer his shares to the existing shareholder structure, in order to allow the same to continue in the management of the company, before proposing his shares to third-party investors.
By virtue of this, the President Saverio Sticchi Damiani decided to accept the proposal and to acquire the entire share package of the shareholder Picciotto, to ensure the continuation of the club in the spirit that has always characterized the ownership of the Club.
