Sicily Fest, and the great food and wine fair held these days at London from Thursday until Sunday April 23. Inside there are several interesting stands.
The Sicily Fest in London
The city of London, inside the Business Design Centre, pulsating center of the Inslington neighborhood for four rich days it hosts excellent food and wine, also giving rise to cultural and musical events all dedicated to the most beautiful island in the Mediterranean. 40 stands set up, 7 cellars, 2 bars and a busy calendar of appointments including 4 show cooking, 7 wine experiences accompanied by the presence of 4 chefs and 2 sommeliers, and again 6 DJ set e 4 live music concerts to engage the audience. All in a space of 2 thousand square meters.
THEeighth edition register today over 40mila visitors, I was interested in knowing and consuming the best products of this land. Over time this event has also become a strategic business hub for Italians, Sicilians and the British. An event that has more and more appreciation, designed and built step by step, to enhance the Sicilian typicality.
Sicilian products on display
Among the products displayed in the stands are the typically Sicilian food and wine excellences such as, pistachios from Bronte and Raffadali, vegetables (Cerda artichokes, Pachino tomatoes, Giarre potatoes, Avola almonds, Maletto strawberries).
Protagonists too typical dishes and specialties typical of Street Food as the muddica atturrata, sfince, cous cous incocciato, cream of peas and mint, burrata sauce, cannoli and arancini. Also present: spleen sandwich with cunzato bread, gnocchi with Trapani pesto, cassata, granita with brioche, almond paste and marzipan. A tasty and caloric tour between sweet and savoury.
Plenty of space too for liqueurs, razols but also vodka, chinotto, lemonades , ginger beer Made in Sicily. Each product is the result of the mixture created between cultures and dominations.
There is also an area with specific products for vegans, vegetarians, coeliacs and also for children.
Among the protagonists of the event with high international visibility are: the chef Theo Randall, Loredana Crisafi, Rosario Matina, Vittorio Meli and Carmelo Carnevale, called to guide the public in the choice and tasting of dishes, with Marco Oliveri as a coordinator of a team ofAis (Italian Sommelier Association). Among the performing artists: Davide Shorty, Sud Sound System Vincenzo Spampinato, Lello dei Tinturia, Sarah Jane Morris with Daria Biancardi.
Food and tourism promotion
This festival aims not only to promote products but also to promote Sicilian tourism in the UK. To this end, a panel discussion on: "Great events and first-class food and wine: growth opportunities for tourism in Sicily” to discuss how to further share and promote Sicilian culture through tourism, food and music.
