Not long ago we told you about some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy. In that ranking, however, we did not mention another dream place: the Pelosa di Stintino, in Sardinia. By many dubbed as the Maldives of Europe, this little paradise is one of the must-see destinations at least once in a lifetime.

Located in the north-western tip of Sardinia, La Pelosa beach is included every year in the rankings of the most beautiful beaches on our planet. Its very fine and white sand gives unique colors. The water is soooo much clear to show us the details of our feet, as well as the numerous fish that swim there, while its formation allows us not to find ourselves completely submerged for tens of meters. The blue of the sea merges with that of the sky, with Isola Piana - located right in front of the beach - acting as a booth. In short, a heaven on earth!

Not far, as mentioned above, the small village of Stintino, town with less than 2 thousand inhabitants where it is not difficult to come across delicious restaurants specializing in local cuisine. Returning to our beach, right in front of the shore stands thePelosa Island, with its XNUMXth century Aragonese tower. Behind it, then, the Isola Piana, so called due to its totally flat formation. Looking further north, here is theAsinara, an island especially loved by hikers (it is in fact part of the Asinara National Park).

How to get to the beach

Starting from Sassari, just go towards Porto Torres along the state road SS 131. Then continue towards Stintino. Once in the small village, we can park our car and reach the beach with the shuttle services offered by the municipality. Alternatively, you can continue by car, following the signs to the beaches.

It is very important to consider that, especially during the high season, the beach is frequented by thousands of tourists. So let's arm ourselves with patience if we run into a chaotic day.
Given the delicate ecosystem of the area, it is mandatory to respect different standards like the one that requires you to bring one mat for use under the towel. In this way we will avoid dragging behind us that white and very fine sand that characterizes the Pelosa. Small gestures, which however help to preserve its beauty.
