The year is over. Three hundred and sixty-five days have flown by and we Italians have had the opportunity to do many things. Too many things too. In fact, 2016 was full of events, problems, successes and failures. But what were our favorite activities? How did we spend our days? Did we stand out in something? Is there life after Christmas meals?
Launch of the Curriculum
In recent years, Italians have been specializing in this honest and stressful discipline. Aided by a slower labor market than the Eurasian tectonic plate movement, the search for a job has recently been recognized as work itself. Obviously not paid. And in 2016 things certainly did not improve. The data confirm that Italy is not understanding a ca ... flight in terms of employment. Hiring increases, but the unemployed increase, the unemployed are no longer unemployed because they are looking for work, but cannot find it and therefore become unemployed. A nice slaughterhouse. When in doubt, I make myself a beer.
Touring festival
Recent polls have shown that in the last year there has been a slight increase in visits to village festivals. The economic crisis is bringing us closer to local flavors and more and more often we prefer to drink wine at the piñata festival rather than go to a restaurant. And this can only please us, given the goodness they offer. There is nothing more romantic than eating a plate of pettole and beans along the way with your girlfriend. Maybe on the notes of some folk group from Bergamo.
The Italians and the constitutional debate
The real evil of this 2016: the Constitutional Referendum. More than six months of electoral campaign even we had to elect the new ruler of the Milky Way. The US presidential election was a breeze in comparison. And the debate has extended to all social classes in the country, certainly not limited to a few experts. Suddenly we remembered that we had a Constitution and that this had to be changed, indeed no, indeed yes. Whole families destroyed, couples destroyed and people who expressed their thoughts on the street without even asking them.
Pokemon Hunter
Summer 2016 will be remembered as the Summer of Pikachu. In fact, in that period the Pokemon Go game spread in Italy. Within a few days, 4 out of 3 Italians downloaded the app on their mobile phones and started touring the country in search of Pokemon. A kind of Grand Tour, but instead of homegrown beauties, the traveler was attracted to these little creatures that were hiding almost everywhere. There have been many complaints for violation of privacy, but on the other hand there has been a rediscovery of places now forgotten by us Italians. Like museums and libraries for example.
The marathons in front of Mentana
The real hero of 2016. Over 9 hours of live television talking about politics, economics and all the useful topics to push an average individual to premeditated murder. And we Italians in front of the TV hanging from his lips, to accompany him in these long and exhausting marathons in the company of popcorn and xanax. You have never been alone in Mentana. And you never will be.
Il let's help them at their home
I'm not a racist, but ... This was one of the most used phrases by Italians in 2016. A real catchphrase that has lasted for months, if not years now. Most of the time, during the news coverage on immigrants, how many times have we heard (or even said) words like the let's help them at their home or but why do they come to steal our jobs? Too bad that we Italians are the Western people most inclined to emigrate. Ask early XNUMXs Americans or Australians for more info.
