Jesolo beach & kite festival. On the coast of the Venetian town the kite festival is in full swing and will go on until tomorrow 2nd April. Around 250 artists from 15 nations are in action. A kilometer and a half of beach with points of sale of specialized retailers and workshops where you can learn how to build your own kite. The Jesolo Beach & Kite Festival brings the largest kite event in Italy, one of the largest in the world, and the best kite artists in the world to the city. The kites that fly across the Jesolo sky are unique objects in the world, handmade by each artist. Some represent animals or symbols of tradition, other characters from the world of literature, of comic and cartoons. The larger ones easily reach over 10 meters in length and width, requiring hundreds of square meters of fabric to be made.

The event is organized by the Marconi Committee and the Filovola association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Jesolo, and the support of Federconsorzi Arenili Jesolo and the Jesolana Hoteliers Association. The event, dedicated to the memory of Andrea Tauro, takes place from 9.30 to 17 with a night flight at 21 on the evening of Saturday 1 April. Access is free and open. Three days of wonderful vaulting along the beach in Piazza Trieste where the central arena is located which then extends to the right and left, embracing the stretch of coast of the Trieste, Venice, Pioppi and Marconi establishments.
On this fantastic stage perform, among others, the current European champion of 4-wire acrobatic kites, Stephen Versteegh (Holland), and the current Italian champion, also of 4-wire acrobatic kites, Sara Rizzetto (Italy). And the vice world champion of 2 lines kites, Samuel Roger (France), the 7 times European champion always of 4 lines, Guido Maiocchi (Italy). The Jesolo Beach & Kite Festival is planning the exhibition of 4 of the only 9 active pilots in the world capable of flying three 2-line stunt kites at the same time, each independent of the other. And, among these, one of the only two in the world capable of flying with 4 acrobatic kites on 2 cables at the same time. Finally, among the great guests of the event, there will be the German Rolf Zimmermann, an institution in the world of three-dimensional static inflatable kites and protagonist with his creations in the film "Elliott, the invisible dragon" by Walt Disney.

Jesolo is hosting the kite festival for the second year in a row, but this year the event which had enjoyed great success in 2022 becomes even bigger and more colorful thanks to the more than 250 kite riders involved. Exceptional guests of the Jesolo beach & kite festival are the members of the Thaitan Kite Team from Thailand. The three kites of the group will color the sky giving us vibrations and twirls with their “wow” effect kites. In fact, this is the word with which the Thais call kites, which have been part of the culture of this people for 700 years.
