At Christmas i Sassi of Matera are transformed into Galilee two thousand years ago with the living nativity scene and the performance "Laudato sii" which will be held on 17 and 18 December 2016 and from 6 to 8 January 2017. The eight scenes of the event: the Annunciation, the Market , the Sanhedrin, the Herod's Court, the Roman Camp, the Domus Romana with the Rite of Marriage, the Shepherds and Peasants and finally the Nativity with the Magi, will give life to a traveling sacred theatrical representation. It will take place along a path that has already hosted important films such as Pasolini's The Gospel according to Matthew, Mel Gibson's The Passion of Christ or the new edition of Ben Hur.
Preparation and scenography are by Cinecittà Studios. There will be groups of historical reenactors who will make the atmosphere of the Galilee of 2000 years ago occupied by the Romans. A real dive into the past!
