“The courage to say I”, this is the theme of the 2021 edition of the Meeting for friendship among peoples, scheduled for next August 20-25 in Rimini. A slogan that is a manifesto, a philosophy of life, an invitation to rediscover the value and greatness of one's existence: the ego finds itself in its fullness to relate to the world outside. The meeting will take place in the structure of the Rimini Fair and for all scheduled events the anti-Covid provisions. At the same time, digital communication will be enhanced in order to allow online connections via the website, the app, the Youtube channel and the various media partner television stations.
The courage to say I, the 2021 manifesto of the Rimini Meeting
We talk about the five days in Rimini with Marco Aluigi who has been deputy director and congress manager of the meeting since last year. “The courage to say I is a phrase extrapolated from the thought of the Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaard - underlines Aluigi - It is a title that is a provocation. An exhortation to want to recover the richness of one's individuality, to 'rebuild' oneself after the long pandemic emergency. Of course it is an 'I' that savors the pleasure of relating to the other because without a we the ego lacks something and vice versa".
Post-pandemic watchword: reconstruction
“It is time to create communities, to create places - asserts the congress manager - After the pandemic the problem facing everyone is that every single individual must realize that without a conscious 'I' an 'we' is not possible. We need testimonials, experiences and people. So here is that the meeting is a great moment of meeting, this year also in the presence: a great goal regained that is a sign of real hope for everyone. The meeting has always represented an outgoing Church which is much talked about today but which we have been proposing since 1980. Our dimension is now international: we are a place where history happens in advance ”.
'I' to be found and educated
For Aluigi “we must avoid the risk of homologation. Each person must rediscover his own dimension also on the level of education which is a fundamental theme ". In this regard, schools heavily affected by pandemic problems should be strongly supported. “There are many paradigms that need to be regained - highlights Aluigi - the confrontation, the friendship between peoples that the meeting has been proposing for over 40 years can only create bridges in a time when an invisible enemy has created physical and psychological barriers. We are returning from a period in which life has lost depth and horizon. We need to rediscover the meaning of why we are in the world".
Over two thousand volunteers are expected at the Rimini meeting
“The volunteers - says Aluigi - will come from all over Italy. For several years it has happened that those who come to attend the meeting, the following year, choose to be a volunteer. And often he also brings a group of friends to get involved in the new adventure. This is beauty, this is humanity; it means doing something useful for oneself and for one's life. And of course for others too. THE volunteers they are a sign of hope because the world needs gratuitousness, joy, an experience of taste. It needs completeness ".
Five days of talks, shows, exhibitions and concerts
At least seventy talks scheduled for the five days of the meeting. There will be shows, some of which will return to take place in the city center. Among the initiatives there is also an event on Dante, for the seven hundred years since the death of the Supreme Poet. Also on the bill is a concert with the young man Federico Mezzozzi, Oscar-winning violinist. And, again, a highly anticipated meeting with the great director Puppets Avati. The five-day Rimini event also includes some exhibitions, one of which is dedicated to Pier Paolo Pasolini, writer and director among the greatest exponents of the intelligentsia of the twentieth century.
