Bologna, 2 August 1980: during the massacre at the Bologna station, 85 people died and over 200 were injured. Today in the square, thousands of people parade to commemorate that sad and unforgettable day. The Bologna massacre was a neo-fascist attack. Today, 2 August 2023, several political exponents are present at the commemoration: the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi, the president of the Emilia Romagna region Stefano Bonaccini and the mayor of Bologna Matthew Lepore. All ready to remember and so that similar things never happen again.

Massacre of Bologna: the touching memory

Among the most touching memories, that of Agide Melloni reported by Corriere. Mrs. Melloni, an Atac driver for years, was a witness to the tragedy of August 2, 1980. «There was an empty bus in the square, behind us the bodies of the victims were increasing by the minute. I had a fireman and a mechanic from my company next to me, without talking to each other we realized that we could do something important, leave the ambulances for the wounded but those bodies it was right that they receive care, attention, dignity that had to be given back to them. So we removed the handrails that prevented getting on board with the stretchers, we covered the windows with white drapes and I began to transport the bodies to the morgue». This is Melloni's sad memory.
