At the Sanremo festival in the rich parterre of super guests there are also the Maneskin, the rock band of the moment which, for a couple of years now, has been achieving global success. It all started with the victory at the 2020 Italian song festival. After a long apprenticeship, the Roman group conquered the podium in the singing kermesse with the song “Shut up and good”. And since then it has been one success after another, one tour after another that has brought Damiano, Vittoria, Ethan and Thomas around the world. And on Thursday 9 February, the four rockers will return to the Ariston stage to enjoy their well-deserved triumph.
The Maneskin in Sanremo
To announce the band's presence at the festival was the artistic director Amadeus who declared: “I invite them every year regardless because Sanremo is strongly linked to them. The festival has something extra when the Maneskin are there”. For the exit oflast album Rush, the band staged a surreal and transgressive wedding a Brancaccio Palace in Rome. A decidedly sui generis ceremony organized by Spotify, and 'officiated' by Alessandro Michele, former creative director of Gucci. Among the guests Paolo Sorrentino, Paulo Dybala, Baz Luhrmann and many other VIPs. The band will arrive at the Ariston on Thursday evening, also because until the day before they will be in the United States for concerts.
Thanks to 320 certifications worldwide, with 18 diamond discs, 253 platinum discs and 48 gold discs, the band is also nominated for 2023 Grammy Awards. The event is scheduled for February 5 in Los Angeles and the band competes in the Best New Artist category. Among the awards received so far Favorite Rock Song to American Music Awards with “Beggin'” and Best Alternative Video at MTV Video Music Awards for the video of “I wanna be your slave”. This song also won the award of Top Rock Song ai Billboard Music Awards. Maneskin were also awarded Best New Alternative Artist at the iHeart Music Awards 2022. For the next edition they received two nominations: Best Group Of The Year and Alternative Artist Of The Year. After the festival, they will leave on February 23 for the world tour.
