Shut up and good… I Maneskin they won theEurovision 2021! The young group already winner of the 71esima edition of the Festival of Sanremo has now won another highly coveted award. Thanks to this well-deserved victory, Italy has returned to the top of the most famous European music contest after 31 years. The last Italian to win theEuro Vision Song Contest it was indeed Toto Cutugno with her Together, from 1990. Considered right from the start as probable winners, the Maneskins have overtaken other super favorite artists, such as the French Barbara pravi with her "Here”, The Maltese Destiny with "Je Me Casse"Or the Swiss Gjon's Tears with "The whole universe". Despite the changes made to "Shut up and good" (without swear words due to the contest regulations) the Roman band also obtained the award as best text ofEurovision 2021. The same award had already been won by Mahmood in 2019, with its "Money".
Maneskin: from revelation to X-Factor to winners of Eurovision 2021
Launched by the talent X-Factor in 2017, the Maneskins (i.e. Moonlight) within a few years they became a real one pop rock phenomenon. The group consisting of Damian David, Victoria DeAngelis, Thomas Rays e Ethan Torchio it is in fact one of the best bands in the current Italian music scene. But Maneskins are not just music. Their performance are real shows, full of emotions, as already seen atlast Sanremo Festival. The debut of the Maneskin at Eurovision 2021 it took place during the early evening (May 22) as guests. The Roman band immediately conquered part of the European public (as can be seen from the comments of the guests of a Norwegian talk show immediately after the band's performance).
Maneskin's participation in Eurovision 2021 has already guaranteed the band new fans at the level international, who were able to discover and appreciate local rock. The victory of "Zitti e Buoni" also means that Italy will be the next organizing country of the contest, as required by the regulation. The Italian rock is not dead and the Maneskins are tangible proof of this. The first place at Eurovision 2021 represents a great milestone for the band, even if it certainly won't be the last.
