Laura Pausini named person of the year. The Latin Recording Academy will honor her as Person of the Year 2023, honoring artists and their achievements in the Latin music industry, as well as their humanitarian efforts.

Winner of four Latin Grammy and a Grammy Award, among the most famous interpreters of Latin music today, Laura Pausini receives this recognition for her career as a versatile and multilingual interpreter. And also for his constant commitment to supporting causes of social justice. “Laura Pausini is one of the most talented and beloved artists of her generation, whose commitment to advocacy and equal rights is exemplary”. So Manuel Abud, CEO of Latin Recording Academy who adds: “Throughout her more than three-decade career, her extraordinary voice continuously breaks down any language and genre barrier, creating a special bond with audiences around the world”.
A long and brilliant career

To be named Person of the Year right now when I'm celebrating 30 years of my career it's something I still can't describe. I can only feel deep gratitude to the Academy and its members, to my colleagues who have always welcomed me with open arms.
But above all for my beloved audience who made a dream into a beautiful reality and who took me to places I never dreamed of reaching with my music. The Spanish language opened doors to me from a very young age, made me feel at home, inspired me to go forward and explore and experience music without barriers or limits. It fills me with pride, joy and strength to continue taking strong steps and inspiring the new generation of artists who carry music in their hearts".
Laura Pausini will be celebrated at a special gala which includes a tribute concert, with interpretations of her repertoire performed by notable artists and friends. The details of the event, at Latin Grammy Week 2023 in Seville, will be announced shortly. Proceeds will go towards the charitable activities of the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation.
