Two wheels are a very widespread passion in the world. The deafening noise of a motorcycle is pure poetry for millions of people, while the thrill of racing with the wind in your hair is one of the most beautiful experiences to live. And like all sectors, the motorcycle sector is also constantly evolving, as recent evidence has shown electric motorcycles. Yes, perhaps the most nostalgic would hardly trade the sound of an internal combustion engine with an electric and silent one. However, the market is slowly moving towards more and more ecological engines. Engines like that of the Bed, the Made in Italy electric motorcycle.

Lacama: a project of the Italian Volt

Lacama was designed by a small Milanese start-up: theItalian Volts. Nicola Colombo, Valerio Fumagalli and Adriano Stellino started this company in 2016 with the aim of revolutionizing the motorcycle market. The Lacama is their first model, and it has several interesting features. The first undoubtedly concerns the shapes, the accessories, the aesthetics. It is in fact a motorcycle totally customizable. In addition to color, finishes and other details, the customer may request any type of modification. The bodywork is made with modern 3D printers, with many possible combinations: the shape of the tank, the mudguards, the grilles, the headlights. In short, the appearance of our bike can be modified in all its parts. A unique versatility capable of satisfying almost anyone.

Speaking of performance, the Lacama is a totally electric motorcycle. A series of 15 kW batteries supply energy to an engine capable of delivering 95 horses. The maximum speed is around i 180 km/h (self-limited), while acceleration brings the bike from 0 to 100 in 4,6 seconds. It has an autonomy capable of running around for 200 km, while a full recharge takes about 60 minutes.
There is a built-in GPSa connection Internet it's a touch screen panel which make Lacama a cutting-edge model. It will also be possible to download a special app on the mobile phone that can inform the owner about the level of recharge, the status of the engine and more. Finally, some aspects of driving can also be modified, as in the most modern cars.

The search for the perfect green engine

The Italian Volt is not the first Italian electric motorcycle project. THEEnergica Motor Company launched last year Eva ed Ego, the two electric super sports cars. Made in the Modena Motor Valley, the Emilian district where the Ferrari, Eva and Ego are the first Made in Italy electric models. The characteristics are very similar to motorcycles equipped with petrol engines. The Ego in particular has a top speed of 240 km/h, and is able to go from 0 to 100 in just 3 seconds.
Unlike the Lacama, the design of the two Energica creatures is less futuristic and approaches the classic models. However, both bikes under the body feature state-of-the-art, 100% electric motors. Because the future seems to be heading in this direction, with all due respect to petrol lovers.
