These days Bari has been transformed into a maxi farm for the food education festival. An event attended by thousands of children, with educators, teachers and psychologists from all over Italy. An appointment awarded by the Medal of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the work done during the year with schools for the food and environmental training of the new generations. And also the opportunities that children will be able to enjoy on the farm in the coming summer.
Nutrition Education Festival
The farmers and breeders of Coldiretti have set up the spaces to allow young guests to milk the cows, take care of the animals in the biodiversity stable, learn to cook in the peasant cooks' tent. Playing shopping like the grown-ups, discovering the world of bees, the sensory vegetable garden and riding the pet therapy donkeys. At the Village Coldiretti is set up on the Emperor Augustus seafront the investigation will be presented on “Children and food”. For the occasion, the report on the boom of educational farms in the Italian countryside will be discussed.
Rural realities that collaborate with schools and that can welcome children in safety during the summer with recreational and educational activities in contact with nature in the large open spaces. The educational initiative sees the full institutional support of the Ministry of Education, University and Research. Together with the participation of Infant Jesus Hospital, San Raffaele Telematic University; Lega Pro – Italian Professional Football League; Fipav – Italian Volleyball Federation. And, again, Sip - Italian Society of Pediatrics; Sports and health; Ant Foundation; Foundation "Agriculture Observatory", Rainbow, Climate Network.
