The 23rd edition of the Comicon Napoli International pop culture festival is in full swing at the Mostra d'Oltremare. Since yesterday and until tomorrow, over 100 visitors are expected for what is the cross-media event par excellence. More than 350 events dedicated to comics are scheduled, but also to cinema and TV series, video games, games and music. And again Asian Village, Cosplay, Kids, Neverland with more than 300 guests among the exhibition halls, the Mediterranean Theater and the Flegrea Arena.
Comicon
With the support of the Campania Region, Comicon will also extend from 23 to 25 June in Bergamo Brescia Italian capital of culture 2023. For May, the patron Claudio Curcio announced a surprise initiative at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, which invites Comicon visitors throughout the month with a 2 x 1 discount. For the event, with sold out now guaranteed, the Mostra d'Oltremare shouldn't miss the guys from Mare Fuori either.
Vesuvius
During the event, the new board game, “Vesuvius 79 AD – Escape from Pompeii” was presented; an innovative educational board game, created by Ciro Sapone. Thanks to the close collaboration between the experts of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii and the author and his team, the characters assigned to the players are real citizens who inhabited the city of Pompeii. Of them, names, professions and in some cases portraits have come down to us, which then, cartoonists and designers have transformed into the protagonists of the game.
“The project is part of the Park's educational activities and initiatives – declares the director Gabriel Zuchtriegel. – as an innovative tool that in a simple way, through the "game" precisely, contributes to the education of cultural heritage which is one of the missions of our institute." There will also be a free, downloadable, multilingual augmented reality app that will allow players to access historical, scientific and three-dimensional model information. The release of the game is scheduled in a first edition for November/December 2023; series production from February 2024.
