Covid in Italy: we continue to monitor the contagion curve which continues to rise undaunted. In the last 24 hours in our country others have contracted the virus 39.811 people, for a total of 902.490 infected by the outbreak of the pandemic. The new deaths are 425 while the increase of the swabs carried out is of 231.673. The healed are 5.966.
The curve rises and the internal medicine departments are also at saturation
“Even more than the numbers of intensive therapies, the alarming data from my point of view is that of ordinary hospitalizations, which is saturating the internal medicine departments of half of Italy. This is a fact on which it is absolutely fundamental to reflect, because it represents the suffering of the territory and the fact that the first line is overcome ”.
Thus Ranieri Guerra, deputy director ofWorld Health Organization (WHO). The first line, he continued, “must be strengthened and made able to filter hospitalizations. Some of these, in fact, are social shelters, in the sense that they are elderly or sick people who cannot find an answer at home ".
In Europe, one infected every 37 people
“Without significant limitations of movements and without a substantial change of ours lifestyle habits coexistence with the virus up to the vaccine is doomed to resounding failure ". This was stated by the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, speaking to the House of Representatives. In Europe, he added, "294.622 people have failed to defeat the virus, 11.863.793 confirmed cases and there is one infected for every 37 people, an impressive figure". “In the world we have reached one infected every 164 people. There are 47.596.852 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic and 1.216.357 deaths. These are figures that speak for themselves ".
