Covid, contagions on the rise again. There are 16.202 new positive cases registered in Italy in the last 24 hours. Yesterday there were 11.224 cases. The victims are instead 575 (yesterday 659). This was announced in today's bulletin of the Ministry of Health. Always according to the ministerial data they were 169.045 swabs carried out in the last 24 hours. In our hospitals, the number of hospitalized patients with symptoms drops to 23.566 (-96 compared to yesterday).
The number of healed or discharged registered an increase of 19.960 units, again compared to yesterday. From the beginning of the pandemic to today, in Italy, the currently positive are 564.395, the deceased 73.604 and the discharged healed 1.445.690. Do not forget that, from tomorrow, the so-called New Year's 'red zone' begins according to the provisions of the last Dpcm of the Conte government.
Contagions on the rise but the vaccination campaign does not stop
“The start of the vaccination campaign does not mean that our behavior will change with respect to protection from the virus. For the whole of 2021 the measures will remain the same as now, from physical distancing to masks, to hand hygiene.
But with vaccinations we will begin to have fewer deaths and fewer sick and this reassures everyone".
