Calabria continues to be among the favorite regions of foreign citizens who want to buy a house in Italy. This is revealed by the latest report elaborated by gate-away.com, international real estate portal dedicated to foreigners who want to buy a property in the Beautiful country.
A house in Calabria, the dream of foreigners
Even in 2022, according to the data that emerged from a survey carried out with 40 users, foreigners continue to look for a house in the far southern region. Analyzing the data from the Calabrian provinces, we note Cosenza in the lead with 52.93% of requests on the total for the period. They follow vibe with 32.76%, Catanzaro (9.63%) and Reggio with 4.1%.
In terms of annual growth, the province that records the highest leap is Catanzaro with a growth of +168%. As far as individual municipalities are concerned, the preferences of foreigners pay off Scalea with 28,1% of requests out of the total. They follow Tropea with 16,8% e zambrone with a +6,34%. At the level of annual performance is the municipality of Longobardi to register a real boom with a growth of +157%.
Discovering the Far South
The may number of requests come from United States (31.96% of the total), UK (10.71%), Canada (10.56%) and Germany (10.44%). The best result compared to 2021 is recorded there'Australia with a +73.53%. With regard to the type of property sought, the preferences of the requests focus on the apartment category (50.9% of the total), followed by the villa (16.28% of the total) and the detached house category (5.57%). And, again, completely renovated houses are preferred (61.94%), without a garden (57.75%), without a swimming pool (72.26%) and without land (81%). Value of the properties sought: the price ranges for the various types of houses range from 100-250 thousand up to one million euros.
